THE GREAT BLUE HOLE, BELIZE

The Great Blue Hole is a giant marine sinkhole that measures 318m across and 124m deep. The site is situated near Lighthouse Reef which is 70 km from Belize City.

The Great Blue Hole is a popular scuba diving site. The hole houses underwater caves, stalactites and marine life that includes midnight parrotfish, Caribbean reef shark, bull shark, hammerhead shark, nurse shark, butterfly fish, angelfish and several others.

The best time to visit here is between January and May, and it costs $80BZ (USD 40) to dive and snorkel.

MARBLE CAVES, ARGENTINA/CHILE

If you want to see something that has been a result of a centuries-long process then, you might consider visiting the marble caves(Cuevas de Mármol) located in the middle of the General Carrera Lake. Carved by over 6000 plus years of glacial water washing up against calcium carbonate, it is one of the most beautiful sites to visit.

The marbles usually seem to be azure but the colour and hue change depending on the water levels and time of the year.

REED FLUTE CAVE, CHINA


The Reed Flute Cave is a 240 m long cave in Guilin, Guangxi, China. It is believed that the cave got its name from the reed that grows outside of the cave from which flutes can be made.

The cave houses different kinds of rock formations, stalactites, and stalagmites and is thus also known as "the Palace of Natural Arts".


AVENUE OF THE BAOBABS, MADAGASCAR

The Avenue of the Baobabs is a 260 m long dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina. About 25, 30m tall Grandidier's baobab trees line the dirt road on both sides. The Avenue of the Baobab is a natural monument of Madagascar and is under conservation since 2015 as it is threatened mainly by deforestation.

The Avenue of the Baobab is not only a tourist site but this dirt road is used by the local people for their day-to-day work. So, if you plan to visit here, expect to meet the friendly local people.


RED BEACH, CHINA

The Red Beach is located in Panjin, Liaoning, China. The beach is unlike any other beach as it is totally covered with flowers. The flowers of Suaeda salsa cover the beach and give the beach its red colour. You should expect to see not only the Suesa flowers but also more than 260 kinds of birds here. It is also home to endangered Crown Cranes and Black Beaked Gulls.
